introducing the series
hello hello everyone!
im starting a film series on tuesday nights with a few folks i know based on an old film lecture series i went to (years ago, with earl jackson jr). the idea will be to cover (in general) two directors or themes per month (probably two months on japanese film), showing secondary films on thursdays for people who are really interested in it. each set will be hosted by someone who knows or is willing to learn a lot about the director/theme/film, so, a short (5 minutes tops?) lecture to start. to start, these will be held at my home in south philly.
this is the list i have so far, and i *think* we will start next tuesday the 13th at 8 o'clock. we will begin with Béla Tarr (see second post) i know im missing some important directors, and i havent even begun to think of things like time periods, so any input y'all have is absolutely welcome.
